Thankyou for tagging me, Laurie!☺ Now onto the tag...
- When did you begin loving makeup?
I never really got into makeup till I was in Year 10 (16 year old). I started wearing black eye-liner and thinking back now, I regretted it so much. Every time I got home from school, my eye-liner smudged everywhere. During that year, I also started watching beauty videos on YouTube. Thanks to the beauty gurus, I learnt how to applied make-up the right way and till this day I'm still learning little tips and tricks of wearing makeup. When I got to Year 12, that's when I started wearing a full faced of makeup except eye-shadow. Which wasn't really necessary in highschool but it did make me feel more confident when I did wear make-up.
2. How do you feel without makeup?
When I was younger, not having any make-up on was a bit of a torture. To be completely honest with you, I felt ugly. I know, it's a horrible thing to say but when you had such bad, acne prone skin, that was exactly how I felt without makeup. I remember one time I had to go into the shop to hand something to my mum and I didn't have any makeup on. I refused to get out of the car. Now thinking back, that was just so silly of me. As I gotten older, I learnt to take care of my skin and learnt to accept myself. I challenged myself to get out of the house without wearing makeup. Of course, it was no easy task but each time I went without any makeup, I felt more and more confident. I am happy to say I can now go to the shops without any make-up on and still feel confident. [Gimme five, baby!]
3. What do you like about makeup?
The thing I love about makeup is its ability to transform someone's appearance in a way that it's not distorting someone's look but enhancing their natural features. Not everyone have perfect skin, I don't anyways and I love how I can conceal my imperfections even if it's only temporarily. To me, makeup is an art and I'm a creative person. I love how makeup can transform so many looks for different occasions. Makeup is quite magical, really. Even if you are very ill, a little bit of makeup and you can trick people into thinking you're fine. So bravo to the people that invented makeup, bravo!
