Will you be my valentine?- A Valentine's Day Makeup Look

Hello pretties! You know. I know. That Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Whether this day is a celebration for you and your lover or you're part of the single ladies community, it is really just another day on the calender. If you're going on a date with your man, this makeup look is perfect for you. Even if you don't have a date, this makeup look is still very pretty to wear to hang out with your girlfriends. The colours I used for this look screamed romantic to me. It's soft, it's pretty. It'll make your eyes pop. So.. let's not keep your man waiting [if you have one], let's begin!

FACE

Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Primer
Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pore Minimiser and Mattifier
Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Eraser Concealer
Clinique Stay Matte Foundation
Rimmel Natural Bronzer
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

CHEEKS

A peachy, pink blush will really compliment your eyes!

EYES

I used the Estee Lauder Signature Eyeshadow Quad in Berry Quartz. If you don't own this quad, don't fret. Any similar eyeshadow colors will give you the same results.
1. I started using a pale pink color all over my lids.
2. Then for the ball of my eyelids, I used a more rosy pink color.
3. As for the crease, I used the deep plum color. Start by applying this on the edge of your eyes. Create a 'V' shape. Then just blend, blend, blend! To give you a softer look. I went back and apply the second color again, just to make the eyes look more vibrant.

For the inner corners of your eyes, apply a champagne beige color. Really drag it out to really make your eyes 'POP'. This will make your eyes look awake and bigger.

Now, proceed with applying your eyeliner and apply your favorite mascara. I also used Ardell's Natural Lashes to give my lashes more length and volume and also give it that flirty look. I would recommend using more natural falsies rather than those dramatic Katy Perry's ones.

LIPS

Finally for the lips, I went with a balm stain in a wearable red color. Using a balm stain is great, so you can smooch all night and still have the color on your lips. No evidence.

There you have it ladies. Whether you'll be going out with your boothang, having a girls night or a party for one, I hope you will have a Happy Valentine's Day or Single Awareness Day! Don't use this a day as an excuse to go all out and spoil your loved ones. Tell your loved ones how much you love and cherish them everyday.

OOTD: Maxi

Hello lovelies! Another week of intense high temperature here in Melbourne. As I'm writing this right now, it's 40 degrees Celsius outside. Seeing the pictures of the snow in New York on instagram doesn't help this boiling situation at all. Anyways, yesterday I caught up with my beautiful friends which I haven't seen for quite a while. Of course, we had heaps to talk about and got up to speed with everyone's lives. What better way to do that than over a nice, delicious dinner at our favourite Thai restaurant. Thai has to be one of my favourite cuisines. Us girls always get a bowl of coconut rice each and the waiter was quite surprise. Carbs?? Pffft!
After a very satisfying dinner, we went to watch the 'Mandela Long Walk to Freedom' movie. We were originally going to watch '12 Years a Slave' but the reviews said that it's a difficult film to sit through and watch people getting tortured... What a legend Mandela was. I learnt a lot from movie about Mandela's life. It was super sad to see how people were treated back  in the day of segregation. The movie pretty much showcased Nelson's Mandela extraordinary journey to freedom and becoming President. Sad movie with a happy ending.

Maxi Dress- Cotton on
Sandals- Vincci
Necklace- Colette

You really cannot go wrong with a maxi dress. Put one on and you're good to go. I absolutely love this dress. It's so comfortable and flattering to wear. I love the two slits on the sides which provide more movement and give a cheeky peek to the legs. Because of the bold colours and prints of the dress, I kept the jewelry very minimal. I love how well the gold feathers necklace go with the dress, which also matched my sandals. Perfect outfit for a summery day or night.

On that note, I'm going to leave you with a couple of my favourite Mandela's quotes:
"It always seem impossible until its done."
"Do not judge me by my successes, judge my by how many times I fell down and got back up again."
- Nelson Mandela

JANUARY FAVOURITES 2014!

Hello lovelies! The first month of the year is well and truly over and we are now into the month of loveee [Oooh la la]. January was a good month to me. It was the beginning of a new year, fresh start and new goals. Buh bye January, February..please be good! Okay, last month I haven't try anything new. In actual fact, I didn't go shopping at all in January [..a round of applauds please]-That is a record for me. The items that I'm about to share with you all are the things that stood out for me and that I had been reaching for a lot. So, my first favourite item of January is...

Skincare

BIODERMA Crealine H20 Solution

Yes, it is everyone's cult favourite Bioderma solution. I believe I bought this baby just before January and I fell in love [actually not me..my skin did]. I love how gentle it is on my skin. It gets rid of any makeup or dirt that might still be left on my skin, after I've cleansed my face. It doesn't break me out or make me have any bad reaction to it whatsoever. I know that there's another version of this, that is catered for oily/combination skin people like me. I might try that one out once I've used this up and see if there's a major difference between the two. The only down side to this product, is the expensive price tag. This little baby bottle cost me $20AUD, whereas the full size bottle is $50AUD. I will probably repurchase it when there's a sale going on. I've also heard that there's a dupe for this, which is the Loreal Micellar solution. It would be amazing if it is, so I can save a bit of $$. Overall, been really lovin' the Bioderma.

THE BODY SHOP Mango Body Butter

Mmmmmm...is all I can say about this body butter. No seriously, this stuff smells so amazing and delicious. Mango is one of my favourite fruit and clearly, I like smelling like it too. Mango and summer is just the perfect combo. I like to apply this right after I come out of the shower [if I'm going out somewhere], so the product really absorbed into my skin. It's thick and it's creamy but it's so moisturizing for the body and leave it feeling smooth. There are array of different flavours/scents you can get. You should probably get your hands on one if you haven't already.☺

Makeup

NYX Blush in Mocha

I've used this blush nearly everyday for the month of January. I absolutely LOVE it! I love how this blush is  matte- so there isn't any shimmers or glitter in it yet it still provide a nice healthy glow. This makes your cheeks look very natural [like you have been running around in the snow..]. It has a nice dusty, rosy pink color, which I think really compliments girls like me who has olive, tanned skin tone. A little goes the longest way with this product. It is very pigmented and if you use too much, you'll end up looking like a clown. Yikes! Very affordable for such an amazing product, really can't fault this.

MAJOLICA MAJORCA Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo Mascara

I did a full review on this mascara a while back so I won't go into detail here. [Check out the review HERE ] To sum it up quickly, I really like using this when I'm doing a very natural makeup look. It lengthens my lashes very well and doesn't clumped up. Great mascara for layering and everyday wear.

Hair care

MACADAMIA Deep Repair Masque

This product is my hair's best friend. It makes my dry, yucky hair into beautiful glossy hair that could potentially be on a hair commercial. I use this once a week and it just makes a huge difference to my hair. After rinsing this out of my hair, it leaves it feeling silky and soft. It really hydrate my hair and make them look more healthier. It smells ahhmazing too [why wouldn't you want to whip your hair back and forth after using this product]! It is on the more pricier side but it is well worth the splurge.

Random

HEALTHY CARE Australia Vitamin C

Okay..this is pretty random but whateves. This is why it is in my random category haha. My father dearest bought me this in the beginning of January and I just have been taking it daily. If you listened in health class at school, you will know that Vitamin C is very good for your health. They have been a few days where I felt a bit under the weather and after taking Vitamin C, I was cured. It just helps boost my immune system and it's a great antioxidant also, among other great benefits from Vitamin C. If it's difficult for you to swallow tablets, you can find ones that are chewable like mine. Apart from Vitamin C, I also take spirulina and fish oil daily. All these supplements make me a happy camper and feelin goood.

Music
THE SUMMER SET

I was introduced to this band by my friend and I'm so glad she did. They are amazing! The first song I listened by The Summer Set was Boomerang and I loved it. It's such a fun and catchy song that just make you want to stand up and have a boogie. I've probably listened to this song for more than a hundred times on repeat and still counting... Some of my favorite songs are; Lightning In A Bottle, 7 Days and Mannequin. Definitely check out their music!

That's it for my January favourites. Let me know what YOU loved in the month of January!
