Hello my lovelies, welcome back to my blog!☺ Today, I've decided that I'd share with you guys snippets of my holiday from Malaysia. For those of you that don't know, I was born and raised in Malaysia. Little me [I was ten] then immigrated to Australia with my family...and the rest is history. The last time I went back for a visit was back in 2008. So it has been 5 years since I was in Malaysia. 5 years is a long time- a lot can happen in 5 years and it has.. I knew this would be a very nostalgic trip.
The first two days in KL was pretty crazy busy. Let me explain..the first day alone, we had six meals altogether. Yup, I know. I said good-bye to my "summer bod" right there and then. We had so many appointments to catch up with friends- Once we caught up with one friend, phone rang and off we went to catch up with another friend. It was great. The food was great. Gosh, I missed the food there! haha☺
Tallest twin towers in the world!- The Twin Petronas Towers
The second day of our trip was solely dedicated to shopping. I most certainly didn't complain about that [I was lovingg it]. Except by the end of the night, my feet were killing me that- I was walking like a grandma.. but hey! it was worth it.

A couple of days later, we went on a road trip to Ipoh, a village to visit my mum's side of the family. One of the reasons we went back to Malaysia was to visit my grandmother, whom isn't well.. I remember her looking after me when I was a little girl and she was such an amazing cook. Even tough she no longer remembers who I am and kept asking my mum who she is, I still adore her all the same and will forever cherish our memories together. She's a strong granny I tell ya!
My grandma & I ♥
Any guesses on what this spiky, deadly looking weapon fruit is? This is one food that I refused to eat- I'm the only one in my family that doesn't eat this. Tip: Do not go kissing anyone after consuming this.
Steamboat party..
My definition: It's basically a pot of broth and there's a selection of food you can choose from such as seafood, meat, veggies, fish balls, beef balls, mushroom balls (whatever type of balls you desired), put it in the pot and after a few minutes.. bon appetit!
Pinang
Becak rides..
We also stopped by the Pinang Peranakan Mansion for a tour of the place. The Pinang Peranakan Mansion, typical of the home of an affluent Baba a century ago is recreated to allow visitors to take a glimpse of the opulent lifestyle, customs and traditions in those days. Over a thousand pieces of antiques and collectibles of this era is on displaying this heritage mansion with its electric architecture.
Definitely recommend checking this place out if you ever get the chance. Felt like I went back in time. I didn't realized till afterwards that a movie I watched was filmed there!
Found some awesome street art ☺
Just me "pretending" to be scared..
I got super excited when I saw all the Christmas decorations at Pavilion! ♥

One of my highlights of the whole trip was seeing my friends. Even though I was in Malaysia for a holiday in 2008, I didn't get a chance to meet up with any of them. So in actual fact, I haven't seen them since I moved to Australia [haven't seen them for 9 long years]! Unfortunately, a few others of my friends couldn't make it as they had exams and uni but these lovelies were able to come and see me. Of course, we had A LOT to catch up on. Every once a while, we would still send each other letters and greeting cards. I'm so incredibly grateful and happy to still have them in my life! ☺
The weather was piping hot on most days and the mosquitoes loved me, it was time to say goodbye again..
I hope you enjoyed reading my photo diary. Let me know if you like these type of post. Have you ever been to Malaysia?
